Bevery Amer, MBA

MBA Professor

Professor Beverly Amer is a nationally recognized educator, well known for her innovative and engaging classroom methodologies. Having earned the title of President's Distinguished Teaching Fellow from Northern Arizona University, she has garnered numerous teaching awards and grants for instructional excellence and is a popular speaker at national teaching conferences in the United States.

Her teaching career spans more than 30 years at the University of Florida, Northern Arizona University, and Washington State University, where she most recently led implementation of the Carson College of Business' new data analytics course sequence. She is also a member of WSU's data analytics team that teaches for Al-Yamamah University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Educated at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, she is a Certified Management Accountant and holds numerous Microsoft certifications.

Professor Amer has written several textbooks, published articles, and given conference and industry presentations in the areas of information systems and technology, higher education instructional pedagogy and innovation, and preparing students for professional careers with an emphasis on the "soft skills" required for workplace success. She was also a Senior Consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).

In her spare time, Professor Amer enjoys spending time with her family. Outdoor activities that she enjoys include hiking, cycling, and snow skiing. She is also an accomplished baker and loves just about anything chocolate!
