What Are the Benefits of an Online MBA Program?

Go beyond business as usual.

The best MBA programs all deliver high-level management skills and strategies. But as someone who aspires to truly make your mark as a business leader, you want more. You want the perspective to make sure those skills and strategies translate across borders, oceans, and cultures. You need the tactics and theoretical knowledge used by today’s foremost business leaders, as well as the cross-cultural fluency to use them in any setting. And that’s exactly what WSU’s Online MBA is built to deliver.

Five Ways to Personalize Your Online MBA Program

Focus your studies to fit your goals.

Every MBA covers business. Ours examines the key driving forces of global commerce—and the tactical expertise you need to lead each with authority. It also offers four concentrations as well as a general track, so you can tailor your degree to fit your professional goals. Each concentration is also offered as a nine-credit graduate certificate.

Additionally, if you have a bachelor's degree in a field other than business, you can earn a Certificate in General Business Administration by completing the seven MBA foundation courses.

Note: Students who have completed coursework equivalent to BA 500 and/or ECONS 555 may be eligible to have these courses waived under certain conditions.

Which path is right for you? Explore the options and find out.

Online MBA in Finance

Learn about financial management of multinational corporations and international investments. Explore related topics, such as asset management, investment analysis, interest rates, and financial futures. Develop the quantitative, analytical, and communication skills to prepare for careers in various settings: Fortune 500 companies, commercial banks, and venture capital firms, to name a few.

Online MBA in Hospitality and Tourism

New technologies, shifting consumer trends, and ever-evolving international issues continue to change the way people spend their recreational time and money. Executives with an understanding of hospitality and tourism are poised to make an impact and shape the future of a growing industry. Choose this track and you'll complete specialized courses in service management, international tourism, and hospitality operations where you can learn how to effectively navigate the unique challenges of global tourism and hospitality.

Online MBA in Marketing

Help organizations find new ways to create value for their customers. Choose a concentration in marketing, and you can take an in-depth look at consumer behavior and the psychology behind it. You'll also complete courses that cover a broad range of in-demand topics: international marketing management, brand management, new product marketing, pricing and promotion, and marketing research.

Online MBA in International Business

All business is global business in today's world. It's a climate that demands much from upper-level leaders and managers. Modern executives must understand international markets and possess the strategic acumen to negotiate business deals effectively across borders and cultures. That's exactly what the international business track is designed to tackle. Choose this track and incorporate a degree of global awareness into your foundational business studies. Explore the ethical, economic, and societal challenges associated with doing business in a foreign marketplace and delve into risk management as it applies to the international stage.

Online MBA – General Track

While some students narrow their focus to one area, others prefer a broader view of the business world. That's what's great about the general track. It allows you to select three electives from any of the concentration course offerings, which gives you the opportunity to become a well-rounded, multi-skilled professional with an advanced understanding of domestic and global business practice.
