Darrel D. Muehling
Dr. Darrel D. Muehling is a professor in the WSU Carson College of Business Department of Marketing and International Business, where he has been a faculty member since 1985. He received his Ph.D. in business administration (emphasis in marketing) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He teaches promotion management and principles of marketing and has been the recipient of numerous teaching awards.
Dr. Muehling’s primary research interests have focused on various dimensions of advertising and communications theory and practice, including nostalgia, comparative advertising, negative “attack” advertising, fine print, and involvement. He has served as a reviewer for a number of academic journals and promotion management textbooks and has held several leadership positions, including president of the American Academy of Advertising.
