All About the WSU Online MBA Program Introductory Course

Finding out that I was promoted at work and accepted into the Washington State University Online MBA program on the same day was amazing. I was ecstatic about these new personal and professional developments, but I was nervous as well! I had not been in school since I graduated in 2013 and I had never even taken a business class.

The introduction course for the Online MBA Program Strategic Planning for Personal and Program Success eased my anxieties and gave me the confidence I needed to start the program strong. The 5-week course was a great way to meet other incoming students while taking a critical look at what is needed to succeed in this 100% online program. The course set clear, realistic expectations of the program and I felt prepared after completing the course.

My favorite part of the introduction course was taking an online assessment to find out my Clifton Strengths! Through this quick online assessment, I found my top strengths that I could use to not only excel in WSU’s program but to immediately utilize these skills with my team! Since taking my Strengthfinder test, I have asked my team to take the assessment as well and am working on ways to incorporate these skills every day in the work environment. I was surprised at how fast I was able to apply my learnings to my professional experience. This was only one assignment of the course, but it was the most insightful and had the biggest impact on me and my team. I can’t wait to know how else I can utilize the skills that I will learn in this program!
